EL PADASTRO
I would recommend this restaurant for a special
night out. The prices are quite expensive therefore,
you would want to make a night of the whole
experience. Not really suitable for children
although they are welcome.
Occupying the highest point in the centre of Mijas
Pueblo, you can see this famous restaurant perched
on a cliff above the Plaza Virgen de la Pena from
miles around. It is said that this is one of the
finest restaurants on the costa. The ala carte menu
offers dishes such as duck magret smoked in tea with
a good selection of deserts including flambé fruit
on the menu. They also have a good
select ion of wine to choose from.
Reservations are recommended. Telephone: 952 485 000 |

EL POSTILLON
This restaurant does not need any advertising, but
it certainly would be unfair if it did not receive a
mention. The recommendations come fast and furious
and they get better all the time.
The staff are, very friendly and the service is
excellent. During the summer month’s you can eat al
fresco in the beautiful courtyard or terrace with
views across the stunning landscapes. When winter
arrives, dining is still a pleasure when you are
seated in a cosy Spanish dining room.
Reservations are necessary so please do reserve as
you will be disappointed

The rest of the week they offer a great ala carte

PORTOFINO
You will find this restaurant on the seafront on the
main Paseo. The menu varied offering a selection of
both Italian specialities and international dishes.
The restaurant is always very busy and popular and
we have intended to try it on many occasions without
luck.
We have had many good reviews from friends and
clients, therefore we have added this one without
trying it ourselves.

RESTAURANT SANTIAGO
Restaurant Santiago – Don’t be put off by the large
wooden front door that is always closed ... knock to
be let in! Santiagos is a superb international
restaurant with exciting specials. Set in sumptuous
Moroccan surroundings Santiagos has a good
atmosphere and warm feel about it. The staff are
very helpful and friendly and always available to
suggest dishes from the menu.
They often do themed nights, this week they are
doing a curry evening, which our friends are all
eager to try. The home-made banoffi pie is not to be
missed. Reservations are advised as you would not
like to arrive and be turned away. Located in
Alhaurin el Grande ... as you enter the town from
Fuengirola/Mijas you will come to a junction with a
Tobacconist on the corner (there is also a sign
directing you to Santiago's). Go straight on at this
junction, Santiago's is approx. 300 metres on your
left.

THAI LANA RESTAURANT – LOS BOLICHES
If you like Thai food then this is a must, it is the
best Restaurant around at the moment for this type
of Cuisine, with humble service and fantastic
ambience,. The internal decorations are second to
none, from the minute you walk in the atmosphere
changes. The tables are sunk in the ground to give
the true effect of eating the way the Thai’s do.
Yes! you have to take your shoes off, so make sure your feet are clean!
The flavours are truly amazing our favourite is the
lamb cooked in coconut. They cook all the food
freshly and add the spices uniquely to your
specification so if you like spicy you will
definitely get spicy.
Situated in Fuengirola behind the Comfortel take the
road behind and it is up on the left-hand side |

EL TOSTÓN (FUENGIROLA CENTRE)
A centrally-situated Spanish bodega for good Spanish
wine and dishes such as good Serrano ham and other
typical tapas and dishes. The atmosphere in the main
bar area is fantastic. We tried this with our friend
David, sat up at one of the casual tables and
enjoyed a few glasses of red wine with a delightful
stew made from tail of the bull, plus scrabbled eggs
with gambas, and black pudding. The whole experience
is amazing.
There is a restaurant at the rear if you prefer to
eat a full meal. The food was excellent and the
selection of wines on offer made it pretty hard to
choose. Situated behind the bus station in
Fuengirola. San Pancracio / Alfonso IIl

The Hotel Tamisa is on the Coin main road running
past the Mijas Golf and before La Cala Hills. The
restaurant has an amazing terrace by the Pool area
over looking the Mijas Golf course. They always
offer a set menu at extremely good value!
The restaurant is lively and popular, the food is
excellent, the staff are professional, the bar areas
are comfortable, what more do you need?

LA CAMPASINA – ITALIAN
This is an cosy local friendly restaurant which
produces excellent pasta, risottos and Pizzas. The
menu is small but the food is amazing and very
tasty. It’s a very casual restaurant and ideal for
families. We often go here when we want a fantastic
meal without the dressing up. The standard of food
is always constant and the prices are excellent
value for money.
My favourite is the Mushroom Risotto, Vic always has
the Seafood Spaghetti with the homemade garlic
bread. Normally around 15 euros per head including
drinks. Situated opposite the Tourist Office in
Fuengirola just along from the Horse roundabout.
Good Food and cheap prices especially if you have
children. They also do a very good breakfast during
the day. Opposite the tourist office in Fuengirola,
just past the indoor market. |

HOYO 19
This is another local restaurant which does typical
Spanish food and the prices are very reasonable.
This is cheap eating with good wholesome food.
Nothing memorable but good value for money like
eating at home. It does not have the atmosphere that
Mareno’s has, but it's good for those nights
you just want a quick meal and can’t be bothered to
dress up and go out.
Portions are not that large and the menu is simple,
but with three courses you will leave full and
content. Very popular with older people and the
prices make it a regular stopping place.
Highly recommended by the local retired Residents at
Puebla a three course meal with wine 8 euros.
There is a play area for children . Situated just
past La Morena’s. |

Las Llaves
This is a top class restaurant, all the food is top
quality. They specialise in Suckling pig, Lamb Shank
and Tapas Starter Platters. The Lamb Chops are
particularly nice, the best I have tried in this
area. There is a great atmosphere in the restaurant
and they have a beautiful alfresco dinning area
ideal for the hot evenings. They also have the most
amazing selection of wines, its hard to choose one.
The staff are excellent and the service is first
class.
Directions: Take to A7 toward Malaga, go past the La
Cala turn off and take the Torrenueva exit which is
2 exits past La Cala. You will come immediately to a
small roundabout, you must give way here. Either
turn immediately right (The restaurant is up on the
left or take the 2nd exit by the supermarket and the
restaurant is on the right. Either exit is fine.

THE BEACH HOUSE RESTAURANT
This restaurant was highly recommended by Toni and
Richard Crooke. They eat there every time they visit
and thoroughly enjoy it every time. The restaurant
fills quickly for lunch so make a reservation
beforehand if possible. Richard enjoys the Giant
Prawns, but says all the food is memorable.
The menu is unusual and has something for
everybody.... the way it should be! Live music added
to the relaxed & friendly ambience. It is
recommended that you spend the day on the beach,
take a break for a long slow lunch and then chill
out on a sun bed for a few hours until sun set.

THE BISTRO
The Bistro is located in Fuengirola. This is on a
par with the Venta Morena as a "favourite" - not for
the location or ambience but for the food.
Situated in a back street with no view and inside
too! Yet the food is superb and a bit different to
the usual fare. Excellent, slightly French style
cuisine, friendly staff, very popular - best to
book.

THE FIESTA RESTAURANTE BAR – MIJAS VILLAGE
This bar has been recommended by a few of my
clients, It is situated on the way into Mijas
Village. When you visit Mijas there are always a
large selection of restaurants and local bars to
chose from. We would like to help you escape those
typical tourist bars.
I understand recently is restaurant has undertaken a
major facelift. The bar is very popular with the
locals and you will struggle to find a free table,
therefore bookings is strongly recommended. The meat
is exceptional, especially the entrecote; they also
serve a good selection of home made deserts

TONY’S BBQ
PAPARILLA
Nice friendly Restaurant with top quality food.
Fantastic Steaks,
BBQ Ribs, Steak Diane and the best King Prawn Curry.
If you like Garlic ask for Tony's special potatoes,
they are fantastic. A warm friendly welcome awaits
you from Tony and his wife Ross, nothing is too much
trouble. Price wise it is middle of the road,
certainly not cheap.
Directions: Take the A7 towards Marbella up to ward
Calypso just before Cala Honda turn off. Come of at
the Petrol Garage, it is the only Garage on the
righthand side between La Cala and the exit. As you
exit drive in front of the parade of shops and then
turn right up the side of the shops.
Turn left and then back down to the front of the
Main road. The restaurant is on the next Parade of
shops just a long from Barclays Bank.
Star Rating ***** Well worth the visit. Tell them we
sent you and you’ll probably get a free bottle of
wine on the house. |
