CORTIJA HNOS ALBA
This restaurant has very mixed reviews with my
clients. Some love it and some hate it, a little bit
like marmite. El Cortijo is a typical Spanish
restaurant that specialises in fresh sea food. The
sea food platter is supposed to be a main course but
it is great shared as a starter. As in most good
Spanish restaurants you can go to the display
cabinet and choose you own fresh fish and decide how
you would prefer it to be cooked.
One of the specialities is Fish baked in salt, you
can choose between fresh Dorada, Sea bream, Sea Bass
and any others they may have on the day. I would go
there to eat fish, although they do offer a good
selection of meat dishes for those that prefer meat.
They do a good fillet steak and a huge leg of lamb,
although I have never tried the meat. Whilst mainly
a fish restaurant the meat is said to be just as
good, Ttry finishing.
Located 100 metres from Casa Navarra on the
Fuengirola to Mijas Pueblo road.

DA BRUNO’S – CABOPINO
This is one of our all time favourite restaurants. I
love the ambience and everything about the setting
of the wonderful restaurant. The Italian based menu
is extensive and it never fails to amaze me how they
produce so many meals at top a quality standard. Da
Brunos is set in it’s own landscaped garden with
fish ponds and children's play area. This is
definitely a must for a special night out, and an
opportunity to dress for dinner. If you have
children you can relax knowing they are perfectly
safe and catered for.
Da Bruno’s is quite expensive, but well worth the
money when you take into consideration the setting
and excellent service offered. The meals range from
Lobster Spaghetti, Risotto, Calves Liver and Fillet
steak cooked in Blue cheese sauce.
Reservations are a must:

EL BOMBOS
If you want to experience a little bit of the real Spain then come here. This is
a real Spanish beach bar situated right on the beach with a very casual
atmosphere, but good quality food! We can recommend the Paella, Rosada, Chicken
Kebabs, Assorted Grilled Fish, Garlic Clams, and the Pil Pil prawns. The prices
are very reasonable and the quality of the food produced here is unbeatable.
Just relax and enjoy a glass of Sangria and look out to sea, it does not get any
more relaxing than this. The restaurant is rustic and very basic, in fact it has
not changed one bit since our first visit 8 years ago. The service is very slow,
so be sure to order drinks immediately. well worth the wait! Star Rating ****
Take 2nd exit after La Cala, heading towards Marbella, just past car showroom on
right, very sharp turn, and road bends sharply as you pull off. Cross over to
the beach side of road, and drive straight down to beach untiI you cannot go any
further. Turn right and drive over a small river it's the first restaurant on
the right |

KUDAMM – King of the Fuengirola Port. * * * *
This restaurant never fails to amaze me, it is the
largest restaurant in Fuengirola Port. Most other
restaurants are a quarter of the size and cannot
fill 20% of their seats. This restaurant is full to
the brim every lunchtime and evening! How do they do
it? The answer is simple - good wholesome food at
reasonable prices. The service is excellent, you
will never have to wait for a drink, you are served
immediately. The Kudammis German owned and offes a
good atmosphere and very original menu, try the
hanging meat kebab with traditional German potatoes
followed by one of their top quality desserts.
Located front line opposite Pier 3 in Fuengirola
Port, the setting is beautiful day or night. |

El CAPRICHO – MIJAS VILLAGE
The El Caprico is one the oldest Spanish restaurants
in the beautiful village of Mijas and is located in
Calle Los Canos in the centre of Mijas. This
restaurant comes highly recommended and offers a
varied menu.
The menu is traditionally Spanish, offering anything
from Pil Pil, Selection of Steaks and even Paella
for one. The waiters are extremely friendly and
nothing is too much trouble. All of the food is
freshly prepared, so you know you are getting the
best they can offer.
One of the good sides to this restaurant is that you
can eat here anytime of the year, it has an amazing
terrace with views across the square plus an amazing
snug and cosy indoor dining area.

EL CORTIJO – BEHIND THE ARTOLA HOTEL * * * *
We were introduced to this restaurant by some
friends. The food was really good and they serve
most things with an option of German potatoes. They
have a lovely alfresco dining area in the garden
which is very popular. This restaurant is very
popular and the prices are really cheap, but the
quality of the food is very good.
The Hotel Artola is roughly situated on Kilometer
194, you will need to go to the nearest exit after
the Hotel and come back on yourself. Take the exit
for the Artola and the restaurant is situated in the
side road just down the side of the Artola.

like the concept of Greek food then this restaurant
is a must! The restaurant situated in the upper part
Benalmadena Port overlooking the Island and boats.
This is good quality food at reasonable prices.
They specialise in Mousakka, Cleftico, Stefano,
Stuffed vine leaves and all the usual Greek dishes.
The terrace makes a nice setting in the Summer.

BEACH CLUB LA FAMILIA
I was told about this by Nicci Thomas and her family
from Wales.
They thought the restaurant was amazing, so we had
to try it for ourselves. The food certainly was
excellent, the staff very attentive and the beach
was amazingly clean and well groomed.
The international kitchen caters for every taste
ranging from the traditional paella through to oven
roast dishes and fish specialities. Items like
lobster or suckling pig have to be pre-ordered at
least one day in advance, but lamb cutlets and rack
of lamb, although not on the menu, will be available
most days and there is always a special "dish of the
day", you have everything you need at Beachclub La
Familia.... Eladio Barriocanal and his team make you
feel welcome and really strive to see to your every
wish.

BELLINI'S RISTORANTE ITALIANO
Bellini’s is traditionally Italian, the menu offers
a good selection. Try the Bruschetta, Seafood
Spaghetti, or one of the many specialities of the
house.
The restaurant is ideal, a little on the expensive
side but the setting is wonderful and makes up for
that. I would not recommend this restaurant for
children although they are welcome. We discovered
this restaurant when a friend of ours Ken went there
to work. After much persuasion we gave it a try, and
to be honest the food was excellent.
I have never understood why I go to Italian
restaurants because, I never eat the Pasta. I always
have the rack of lamb in balsamic vinegar with
rosemary and garlic or the mushroom risotto which
are always excellent.
Bellini's is situated on the Mijas road at Km 4.2 on
the way to the pueblo. For bookings telephone: 952

PIMIENTO’S * * *
What can I say about Pimientos? Well it's one of the
original restaurants still open in Fuengirola Port.
It has a good menu, from pasta’s to curries and traditional
Spanish. In fact they have virtually everything on
the menu. It is a like a fast food restaurant, but
the quality is very good. They
do a wonderful full English breakfast and the prices
are very cheap. It is situated on the front line
opposite the boats, therefore the setting is very
nice on a sunny day. This restaurant is ideal
value for money and provides excellent fresh food,
it is not where you go for a good night out as the
layout is basic, but you would never be disappointed
with the food produced.
Pimientos is very flexible with the menu, if
asked they will produce virtually anything possible,
highly recommended as a lunchtime venue. |

PACO - TERE. * * *
A local Spanish restaurant situated on the corner by
the roundabout just opposite the far entrance to the
port opposite the carousel. Paco and Tere have been
here for years and they are always very busy. When
we first came to Spain this was one of the first local restaurants we discovered
with our friends Hazel and Ian. It is by far the best value for money restaurant
in Fuengirola Port.
The quality of food is amazing considering the size
of the kitchen. Paco the owner serves the tables himself,
whilst his wife Tere is in the kitchen creating
wonderful fresh food. The food
is traditional Spanish fish dishes and they are very
accommodating and will cook whatever you want if you
ask. They also have a small selection of meat dishes
for those that do not like fish. Winter lunch only,
Summer open all day. |

BISTRO VEGETALIA
If you are a veggie then this restaurant is a must
for a good night out. Situated in the Los Boliches
area of Fuengirola this Vegetarian Restaurant is
very unique in many ways. To start with the prices
are very reasonable and the staff are very friendly
and happy to help and explain the dishes (which
include vegan and lactose free), but to shock those
meat eaters the food is very tasty and enjoyable.
This is not just basic vegetarian food at its worst!
The menu offers a selection of very exciting and
interesting tasty dishes. It comes highly
recommended and the freshly squeezed juices are to
die for. Closed on Sundays & Mondays. Calle
Sta.Isabel 8 , Los Boliches, Fuengirola.

CASTILLO DE MONDA
Castillo de Monda is located in this Majestic 15th
century Moorish Castle located in the white washed
village of Monda which makes a fantastic setting.
Just a 10 minute drive from Coin and only ½ hour
from Mijas. The views on the way are fantastic and
it is well worth the effort once you get there.
The prices are quite expensive around 50 – 60 Euros
per head including Wine. This is recommended for
that special occasion or Sunday lunch when the
Castillo de Monda is a must to visit.

CLUB MARITIMO MARBELLA
Ideal for lunch or dinner, this restaurant is a
must! Located right in the Marina, the main CIub
Nautico. The views from the balcony across the
marina and boats is wonderful.
They offer an excellent menu too! Feel free to eat a
light meal of tapas on the terrace, they do
everything from Calamares to fresh fish.
From the outside it looks rather stuffy and
expensive, but it really isn’t. Give it a try!

ALCAZABA IN MIJAS VILLAGE
This restaurant offers an extensive ala carte menu
plus a good menu del dia, which is excellent value
for money. The menu del dia is normally offered at
lunch times, but it can be had on request during the
evening.
The restaurant is decorated and designed in a
typical Moorish design, and if you are eating al
fresco, the views from the terrace to the coast are
truly breath taking.
If you choose the menu del dia you will enjoy a
three course meal for around 18 euros per head which
is good value for money, considering the quality of
the food you are served.

EL MIRLO BLANCO
This restaurant specialises in authentic cuisine
from the Northern Spain regions. The restaurant has
the benefit of a truly typical Spanish terrace with
shade offered from the grape vines. A fantastic
location for dining al fresco during the summer
months, the terrace over looks the Plaza de la
Constitution in Mijas.
During the winter month’s you can smell the burning
of olive wood in the cosy indoor restaurant….. when
ever you decide to visit you will have an amazing
meal to remember. The menu has many things to chose
from but the Leg of Lamb comes highly recommended
followed by a home made soufflé.
Booking is recommended, especially during the summer
season, like most restaurants there is always a
table available during the winter months.
